Greta Teveroli

The series born in 2018 and still under development aims to experiment through organic materials, purely used in restoration, unhinging them from their primary use and liberating them from their traditional use.
The series stands as a personal cathartic action in which the feeling of melancholy is crystallized on a canvas, creating an imprint reminiscent of the breaker of waves.
The sea, the protagonist element of the work, not so much because of its actual identity but because of its significance in dynamic psychology, becomes both a sign and a testimony to the attempt to free oneself from melancholy by fixing it on rough, crumpled canvases, leaving marks of what has been and what will come again, only the golden stitching attempts to create a path in the vagueness.
The works become evidence of the attempt to get rid of uncomfortable emotions and lock them into fixed and unchanging forms, becoming like the pages of a diary or like a letter locked in a drawer.
