Dodd Brown

Dodd Brown Nkpa is a contemporary Nigerian artist, born in Plateau State, Jos and a native of Asuk-Oyet in Andoni Local Government Area, Rivers State.
Before he got formally trained as an artist, growing up as a child, his Dad always had touches of art in their home especially terracotta vases.
He draws inspiration of his paintings from different subject matters like politics, human segregation, domestic relationships, experiences in his life and that of others, both past and present.
He loves experimentation, so he employs various media e.g Ankara fabrics, news prints and colours on canvas, to bring to fore his expressions. This helps his art to keep evolving but not falling short of his style and creativity. He refers to himself as a mixed-media artist. The use of “FABRICS” as a medium in his artworks gave him the idea to style such body of art as “FABRICation”. Sometimes his storyline is kept simple, other times a bit metaphorical.
