Michelle Buser

Richmond, VA based mixed-media artist, Michelle Buser has been creating for as long as she can remember. Michelle completed her undergraduate education at George Mason University just outside of Washington, D.C. She received her B.A in Visual Arts and Technology with a concentration in Graphic Design and Communications. Today, Michelle maintains a career as a professional graphic designer. Though she has drawn all her life, Michelle is a self-taught painter, beginning in 2019.

Michelle is a portrait and photorealist artist. Her work features themes of empowerment, connection, beauty, storytelling and emotion. Her work assists in her own trauma and healing journey and is influenced by interpersonal connection and relationships, individual stories and history and deep-rooted human emotion. She works with various medium from acrylic paint, inkwash, graphite, charcoal, ink, pastel, and conte crayon. She often incorporates elements of fashion, culture and texture in her work such as beading and foil. Michelle also works in printmaking and digital art and is a talented photographer.
