"Our mission is to preserve and create traditional Himalayan art, to educate people about Himalayan arts and culture and to preserve the environment. My paintings are influenced by Tibet's great teachers and my love of nature.The tantric art of Tibet has been a life long study. Visiting Nepal in1966, I met the State Artist of Tibet as he and his family fled Tibet during the Cultural Revolution. He opened the doors to Tibets sacred art for me. His humble dedication to traditional artistic values inspired me to beginning iconographic drawings which I did for several years before learning about color. The making of mineral pigments was part of my practice.Having had the honor of working for His Holiness the 17th Karmapa and Tsurphu Monastery, in Tibet with Leslie Nguyen Temple since 1992, has greatly validated my life as an artist.Now back in Asia co-ordinating new projects for Tibet, as well as a feature documentary of the Giant Tsurphu Applique Thangka we completede in 1994."My Buddhist painting deals with a state of mind without dualities. 10 years in Nepal studying with various thangka masters the theory and practice of Tibetan thangka painting, (1966-75).I have taught Tibetan art at Naropa Institute, and worldwide since 1974. Painted murals in Temples in Nepal from 1969 and am working on large scale art projects in Tibet since 1992 for His Holiness the 17th Karmapa.
