hello!

My name is Mercedes and I was born in the north of Spain and raised in the UK where I was educated in Harrow. I am bilingual. When I turned 15 my family decide to return back to Spain where I studied graphic design and art in Malaga. I am based in Malaga, Southern Spain, where I live with my husband, son and cat.

I have always sketched and doodled for as long as I can remember on sketch books and serviettes, these doodles have now become refined illustrations and are sold as prints internationally via my website. My family and I are based in Marbella, Southern Spain, where I work as a freelance illustrator, as well as a licensing artist for Wild Apple Graphics Ltd in the USA. My work is inspired by the beautiful surroundings I live in and I paint in watercolour and ink and then digitally edit my work.

This year I have discovered the joys of acrylic paint and have begun to create larger, one of a kind canvas abstracts. I use the paint in a watercolour style, adding different mediums, just fluid enough for soft application.
Most of the canvases are hand stretched by me, in natural linen as I appreciate the organic texture it gives to the finished piece and there is an intimacy of preparing the canvas for a new adventure.

I work along side interior decorators to colour coordinate art to match their interiors.
