Zoya’s approach to her still lifes is both thoughtful and restrained, much like the Japanese practice of ikebana. She uses her work to breathe life into those often overlooked, an outcome of elegance rarely achieved in today’s unyielding reality.
Offset against a stark black background and illuminated by a single source of natural light, each piece delicately celebrates the plant-life, fruit and objects found in and around her North London home.
Nostalgically contemporary, Zoya's work encourages us to slow down and pay respect to the silent, multiversal energy found in the ordinary and the everyday.
