Gina Gherardi

I love exploring the way colour creates moods and atmospheres, and in my latest body of silk fragment collages I try to evoke feelings of joy, humour, calm and thoughtfulness and particularly enjoy working in fine detail on a smaller scale.
I feel I’ve now arrived, in my mellow years, at a place where I’m no longer filled with angst. I have the freedom to sit quietly in my own time and space, not restricted by expectations of others, at peace in my own creative world.
Richest fruits come with the approach of autumn.

I graduated as a mature student with a fine art textile degree from Norwich Art School and started making sculptural textile jewellery.

In the early 2000’s I was an associate member of Society of Designer Craftsmen which enabled me to exhibit in mixed shows in London - the Mall Galleries, and Chelsea Crafts.
I have exhibited in mixed show round the UK, and have sold work in various museum shops/galleries.
Participated in Open Studios in Cambridge for many years.
I now work in a completely different field using my love of colour in a more random but totally considered way
