Tom Tomos

Born 1956 Lambeth, London.
Living in Ferwig on the beautiful Ceredigion coastline near Cardigan in west Wales. Trained as a biologist (good for drawing skills!) but have latterly studied art history, philosophy (unfashionably, a fan of Wittgenstein) and music. Now painting, sculpting, surfing and sailing full time (someone has to do it!).

I spent countless hours as a teenager just looking at paintings in the old Tate at Millbank. I am inspired by light and its effects on the landscape and seascape in west Wales. I am influenced by David Bomberg, Derek Jarman, Patrick Heron and Peter Lanyon. Paintings tend to be acrylic on paper or canvas nowadays. Paintings getting bigger by the day.

Schooled at Tooting in south London. University of Wales at Swansea and the Open University.
Currently exhibiting at 'Art Matters' in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, St Dogmaels Gallery and at 'Apple Gallery' in Godalming, Surrey. ,
