Rachel Henson

I have always painted and created, I just can't stop! The beautiful natural world that surrounds me here in West Cornwall is a constant source of inspiration. There are so many beaches, patches of woodland and hedgerows alive with wonderful flowers and insects. Sometimes I will quietly paint those flowers and insects in a highly detailed style using reference and other times I have real fun and paint in a faster lively way using just my imagination and maybe a scribble from my sketch book. I also paint realistic portraits and make assemblages from kitsch vintage toys. Currently I am working on a number of large canvases featuring flowers and butterflies, which are a continual source of fascination and inspiration to me.
