James Wimberg

Based in Los Angeles, James balances his commercial photography career with his personal artistic pursuits. While he continues to deliver high-quality work for his clients, he also dedicates time to fine art photography, exploring new techniques and pushing creative boundaries. In recent years, James has ventured into the world of analog collage, a medium through which he has found fresh artistic expression and a new way to alter photography and blend it with graphics. His mixed media collages have been met with enthusiasm from galleries and praise from his peers, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and innovative artist.
"My artistic inspiration stems from the works of Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Heinecken, Frank Ockenfels 3, Cecil Touchon and David Carson. For me, these artists have brilliantly blended images, color, texture, and typeface into impactful works of art that move me."

Graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BFA in Printmaking
