Ingrid Baker

I am originally from Bolivia and grew up in Maryland. My father was a mid century Danish architect and my mother worked at the Inter American Development Bank in Washington, DC. Art has always been a part of my life, I remember going to my dad's office at an early age and coloring with professional grade markers on various blueprints. Living 15 miles outside of Washington, DC meant we had quick access to all of the museums, my mother loved the National Gallery and we went regularly to see all the different exhibits, I learned at a very early age to appreciate great works of original art. I always received art awards during grammar, middle and high school and was selected to work with a master etcher at The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery during my senior year of high school. I also began plein aire painting that year.

I attended Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland then went on to the University of Maryland. I transferred to the prestigious American College of Switzerland and received a Bachelors Degree in International Relations.
