All of the work in this body is an exploration of color and texture through the use of repeated forms to create what I refer to as 'assembled paintings'. I utilize a variety of materials (acrylic paint, found papers, board, gel mediums, graphite, spray paints, glues, and resin) in the creation of these paintings. The individual elements are painted and treated separately and then inlayed in a puzzle-like fashion. The finished work is then layered in resin lending the pieces a glassy, tile-like feel. Most of the art comes framed and ready-to-hang in black or white hand made enamel frames. Often, the art works well in small series and grids with the individual pieces complementing or contrasting one another. I find inspiration in the world around me; from the patina on a worn boat hull, to the texture and color in shells and rocks.
