Sophie Jolivet

My sculpture work traces a personal mythology informed by prehistoric and ancient sculpture from different cultures and by fantasy & science fiction literature.Please contact me for a studio visit, a purchase project or additional photos.

I was born in France in 1975.

Precocious child, I read comics at the age of 5 and spent my first night alone in the forest in 1989.
In 1995, I interrupted the arts courses I followed in the university of Saint-Étienne for traveling around the South of France.

For the last thirty years, I've been involved in many way to pratice arts: paint, grafics, designer, photography, land art, ceramic...

In my spare time, I've been able to assert myself in a few sideline activities: full-time mom, freelance packaging designer, land registry surveyor, industrial design office manager, basement cleaner.

And if I'd had the time, I'd certainly have been a troglodyte herbalist and world table tennis champion...
