SULTAN AHMED entered the world of calligraphy some twenty years ago and has produced an arry of sublime pieces in th Quranic script. His words have been displayed in PAKISTAN, IRAN, ITALY, IRAN, CHINA, INDIA, SAUDI ARABIA, and UK. and have won praise from critics and connoisseurs. SOME, indeed, have found a respected place in the national catalogue of calligraphy.

SULTAN AHMED was born in Lahore and grew up in the traditional time-honoured environment of the walled city. Since his early days he was given to observing with a childlike admiration the Quranic scripts adorning the walls and the exteriors of the mosques of the great city.

His fascination with the revered script, however, did not, in the first instance, draw hin to calligraphy. he began his career as a painter of the film and remained so for almost twenty-tow years (1955-1977)
