Born 1959 in Slough, Berkshire. Traditional career in commerce until started own photographic business in Jan 2007. It may sound strange, but I actively try to see the world 'in pictures' now, and then try to record what I see. Inspired originally by a desire to capture the awesome splendour of the Himalaya during a trek to Everest Base Camp, I now work commercially as a photographer as well as it being my hobby. In both situations I always attempt to produce images of some artistic merit in my work. Not always easy when you're doing something like photographing roof tiles for a brochure. I like to work on projects where there is 'an essence' to be captured. Perhaps my best example to date would be The Fans' World Cup - a collection illustrating the marvellous way Germany welcomed and hosted visitors to the 2006 tournament. It would have been published as a book had England not performed so woefully.
No formal photographic training. Eternally grateful to Malcolm Cole who fired my initial interest and Mel Gigg who for a small fee taught me how to process images with care and attention to detail. :)
April 2012: Brewery Arts Centre, Cirencester, UK. A 2 week exhibition of my favourite images in a variety of formats and sizes.
Exhibited a collection of images from Nepal in 2006, to raise money for a Sherpa housebuilding project.
