Marko Dumnić

I perceive art as a profoundly intimate and emotional instinct of human beings. Painting and drawing allow me to vividly convey my poetic thoughts, spiritual states, and emotions.

Two realms of my constant exploration are colour, respectively the light, as the embodiment of spirit, and form, as the geometry I employ to compose the picture as a whole.

In the perpetual challenge, I confront diverse paintings and drawings, from soft forms to pasty expressionism to impulsive sketches, all reflecting my current state of mind.

The themes and motifs of my works have evolved. I began with drawings
while manifesting by colour meaningfully required some time. Thus, I journeyed from strictly figurative to almost informal art and ultimately reached symbolism, which I felt was the path to follow.

Eventually, it led me to landscapes. As painting en plein air brings me to contemplation, I strive to reveal that profound sentiment. At the same time, I remain open to novelties.

As I develop my painting skills and craftsmanship, I also delve into the captivating and timeless world of art history, which I consider an indispensable element of this calling.
