Yasith Lokupathirage

Raised in Canada and currently living in Sweden, I create a one of a kind art that leaves the audience to think for themselves as to what emotions and expressions they feel when they view the masterpieces. As an artist, I have drawn inspiration from abstract expressionism. My work is entirely unique to my hand, infused with my own distinct perspective and life experiences.

With the canvas flat on the ground, it allows me to become connected with the work and to move in a way that feels like a dance. The brighter colors hide the darker hues underneath, representing both my personal struggles and my search for happiness.

My artwork is a personal take on the abstract expressionist style, combining personal experiences with the use of movement and gesture, similar to performance art.

My artwork is a continuation of a long tradition of artists who have used personal experiences as inspiration for their work and seeks to find beauty in the midst of life's difficulties.
