Charles-Henry Bédué. 1980, France.
From the intimacy of families to professionals or social life events, I pay a deep attention at the relation between individuals, environment, objects, and the mystery that bond all of us. Random, chance is my guide through the unknown, to the unknowns, because I believe in fate. In a way, my process has a religious function, according to the double etymological definition of the term:
Relegere: collect, gather | Religare: connect, bind
That said, my artistic process is a service offer to my acquirers, making my own a subject imposed on me. As an artist in residency, I am invited to cover a specific situation. From the content obtained, and the desire it aroused, we can then imagine what the final object could be, its production and purchase cost.
Large format prints, triptychs on folding screen, altarpieces, limited editions of photo book albums etc... at the end the acquirer become the only possessor of a unique object. To seal this relationship, I take a large format photo of the room with the final object display on it.
Graduated from ESAG Penninghen in Paris, master degree.
