Izabela Bajda

Born in Szczecin, where she completed her studies at the Fine Arts High School. Continuing her artistic education, she pursued a degree in applied graphics at the Higher School of Applied Arts. In 2006, she graduated, defending her diploma thesis under the supervision of Prof. Grzegorz Marszałek and Prof. Leszek Żebrowski. After finishing her studies, driven by her fascination with the art of photography, she decided to undertake postgraduate studies at the Warsaw School of Photography, completing her educational journey.

From 2005 to 2023, she lived in Warsaw, where she worked professionally as a photographer and graphic designer. She was responsible for the photographic documentation of many state events involving key figures in the government as well as foreign delegations. Reportage photography also holds an important place in her professional life as one of her main passions. Additionally, her interests include painting and ceramics, both of which she regularly develops in her artistic practice. In the field of graphics, she particularly favors vectors, the influence of which can be seen in her painting - it is geometric and simplified. She draws inspiration mainly from Art Deco and Cubism.

I started my adventure with art at the Art High School. Constantina Brancussi in Szczecin. During this time, I became more interested in visual arts, graphics and photography. My interests turned into a fascination with photography, especially analog photography, and already in high school I knew that I wanted to become a photojournalist. My first inspiration to travel around the world and take photographs is my beloved father, who as a sailor traveled around the world and showed it to me through the perspective of photography, short films and amazing stories. After passing the Matura exam, I started studies at the College of Applied Arts in Szczecin (currently the Academy of Art), majoring in applied graphics. At the College of Applied Arts, I gained thorough education in the history of art, painting and drawing, workshop graphics and graphic design. Among the lecturers who had the greatest influence on my vision of art were Professor Andrzej Żebrowski, a brilliant poster artist, and Professor Grzegorz Marszałek, a lecturer at the Poznań Academy of Fine Arts, also a poster artist and illustrator. I completed my studies with my diploma thesis "Posters for Bernardo Bertolucci's films", which in 2012 was exhibited at the Night of Museums at the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin, and my master's thesis "Propaganda poster in Russia and Poland in the years from 1900 to the present day". During my studies, I worked as a photographer for the newspapers "Obserwator Zachodniopomorski", "Świat Biznesu" and "Studio Gryczenko" and as a graphic designer in the advertising agencies "Nova" and "Biznes Media" in Szczecin. My artistic work resulted in cooperation with the publishing house "Muzy" in Warsaw. In the period 2009 - 2011 I took photos for the books "Kryminalna Warszawa", "Kryminalna Warszawa II" by Helena Kowalik or "Bad Blood" by the famous Swedish crime writer Arne Dahl. My photos have been published in many magazines, e.g. "Border Guard", "IPA Polska".
