Flowers are, for me, both inhalation and exhalation.
While working with flowers, I touch them with my hands, trim them, hydrate them, and decide which stems to discard and which to keep. In this process, sensations such as temperature, scent, and texture—along with the air of the day, a sense of anticipation, and the quiet warmth of everyday life—enter my body like a breath drawn in.
Just as an inhaled breath is naturally released, painting flowers feels inevitable to me. It is not merely an act of visual representation, but a trace of breathing in which the whole body’s senses are absorbed.
I am drawn to moments where flowers meet objects. At the boundary where natural lines encounter artificial colors, where softness touches firmness, new temperatures and textures emerge. When flowers and everyday objects come together, they renew one another’s way of existing.
