Miglena Radkova - Kancheva

Hello, I’m Miglena.
I live and work in the city of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
I am married and I have a wonderful daughter.
My husband and I are high school sweethearts and we share the same creative outlook in life, which makes me truly happy.
I’ve been a ceramist for a long time, over 30 years now. I went to the acclaimed art school in Troyan, famous for its ceramics program. After that I completed my Master’s degree in ceramics in the National Academy of Art in Sofia.
Since then I’ve been seeing the world through a “ceramics window”.
In this point of my life, after such an extensive professional and life experience, I’ve decided to express my thoughts through the medium of the lighting fixture.
Beauty, purity, lightness and naturalness are concepts that I hold in high regard and thus I came to the idea of creating “light” or lighting fixture.
The lighting fixture has an ensemble of qualities that excite and inspire me. I approach the process of creating it with careful research and fine craftsmanship so my products are quite unique and made with great attention to detail.
I love ceramics, I love everything it represents – Earth, Air, Fire and Water. And when it all “lights up”, it makes me truly happy.
