Gabe Palmer

I begin my career as an account executive at BBD&O in the Mad Men days of Madison Avenue. Unfortunately for this particular career choice the agency added a photo studio on the 11th floor, and I began hanging out when I wasn’t schmoozing clients. I was 25 years old and had never even handled a camera. Three months later I quit my job and went to work as a photo assistant, working in many different studios, doing everything from processing color film, set decoration and of course, getting coffee! After four years of assisting I launched my career and spent the next 25 years shooting for Fortune 500 clients worldwide. I was also fortunate in being able to successfully ride the crest of the stock photo business, shooting everything and anything under the trade name ”Mugshots”.
Fine art photography is my “personal” work. It was something that I did for the joy of image making. I never thought to sell this art because I was doing so well in the commercial area. But those days are behind me now and I've strarted out on a new path. I hope you enjoy viewing work as much as I enjoy creating it.
