Shims Seng

Shims is a Singapore-based artist known for her vivid still life paintings that portrays the everyday domestic interiors. Her vibrant works exudes stillness, poetry and joy. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Shims' works portray scenes from the everyday life - interior nooks, curated coffee tables, quiet alcoves - into vibrant visual narratives. As a graduate of Bachelor of Architecture and a practicing architect, Shims drew much inspiration from nature - organic forms and natural patterns in nature informed much of Shims’ works. In every artwork, a plant or bloom finds its place in every composition. Paired with meticulously arranged interiors and vibrantly rendered compositions, Shims' works reflects and celebrates the subtle poetry of daily life.
