Jasmine Kaur

Dr. Jasmine is a contemporary miniature artist. Her keen interest in the magical world of traditional
painting of Kangra and Basohli inspired her to do her Masters Specialization in Miniature
Painting, followed by Ph.D in the same genre. She loves experimenting with the contemporary
subjects and tries juxtaposing elements of the past with the present trying to give a new dimension
to the art of miniature painting both in terms of theme and material. She has 13 years of experience in the field of art and presently working as Assistant Professor in
Architecture Dept, SCET, Surat (India).

M.A in Fine Arts (Gold Medalist and Chancellor Award winner), U.G.C NET cleared,
Ph.D. (Flora and Fauna in the Pahari Miniatures in the collection of Chandigarh museum: An analytical
study from Punjabi University, March-2015)

- Awarded the “CHANCELLOR MEDAL FOR EXCELLENCE (2007)” by Punjabi University, Patiala.
- Awarded Highly Commended Certificate at 74th All India Exhibition of Arts-2008 by The Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar.
- Awarded the “SAHEED-E-AZAM BHAGAT SINGH STATE YOUTH AWARD (2005-06)” by the Govt. Of Punjab Youth Services Department.
- 2nd position in Clay Modelling in Punjab State Intervarsity Cultural Competition held in Govt. Girls College, Ludhiana on 24th and 25th Jan.,2006.
- Awarded “UNIVERSITY COLOR (2004-05)” for securing 1st position in North Zone Intervarsity Youth Festival and 2nd position in National I.U.Y.F. for Collage Making and securing 2nd position in North Zone Inter-university Youth Festival (Group Song Western).
