Jetson Lobos

I am a painter who is looking to make sense of the world we live in, looking to understand. My work is a mix of abstraction and figurative representation. I try to explore the relationships between figures, color and emotion. I primarily work with oil and enamel paints on canvas. My own experiences inspire my paintings. They are a reflection of my struggles, triumphs, and ambiguities, all that are part of the human experience. I invite people to see me and themselves in my paintings. I dare the viewer to look beneath the surface of my work to discover the emotional and psychological layers that are hidden there.

My name is Jetson Lobos. I am a contemporary artist born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, California. Currently, I live and work in my studio in downtown Los Angeles.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Riverside, CA 2009.
