Edward Jekot

I am a professional artist. My artwork explores theme, science, humor, space, and narratives. Often referencing science, the human subject, and pattern, my work explores the varying relationships between these elements and spaces. I am interested in space and how it is defined. While I use various materials and processes in each painting, my approach is consistent. Although there may not always be material similarities between paintings, they are linked by recurring formal concerns and through the subject matter. The subject matter of each body of work determines the expression and the language of the work. Each series often consists of multiple works grouped around specific themes and meanings. Constant observation and research inspire new areas of interest, and these explorations lead to new bodies of work.

I have pieces in public and private collection in the United States and beyond.

I am a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design & Brown University
