Emily Parsons

Hello! I’m Emily Parsons and I am an artist and graphic designer in Brooklyn, New York.

I began my career working as an art director for magazines and media companies including The New Yorker, NYT, and Condé Nast, and because of this I have a deep appreciation for visual aesthetic and storytelling. I aim to capture a sense of emotionality in each piece—through glowy lighting on a landscape, thoughtful expressions on a portrait, and impressionist brushstrokes threading through all of my work. Through these practices I aim to show the charm in ordinary moments.

I also write a monthly Substack newsletter called Sketchbook that publishes short stories, personal essays, and (of course) sketches that are inspired by everyday life.
