Ruth Piper

I am Ruth Piper, a contemporary realist oil painter with a multi-decade dedication to classical technique. Having trained under the European academic tradition under masters like Georges Faget-Bénard, my artistic practice spans diverse genres. My work includes architectural cityscapes, fine art portraiture, intimate floral and object still lifes, and complex composite narrative paintings.

Across all subjects, my focus remains tightly fixed on architectural linear perspective, the nuanced textures of internal spaces, and the precise, atmospheric interplay of light and shadow. I work primarily with high-grade, archival oil pigments on canvas and wood panels to ensure the ultimate permanence of each piece.
My lifelong commitment to the medium is anchored by continuous recognition from the Société des Artistes Français in Paris, where I hold a multi-tiered medal record culminating in the Silver Medal. My major large-scale works, original nocturnes, and fine art portrait commissions are held in private collections internationally.
