The sculptor Sassoon was born in 1946. He spent his childhood in Kibbutz Kineret near the Sea of Galilee, home to many famous poets and writers. The area's rich cultural ambiance instilled in him an appreciation for nature and respect for the beauty of the arts.

Sassoon studied sculpture in the renowned Avney Institute of Arts. After completing his formal studies, he moved to Ein-Hod, an artist colony, to study stone sculpting. In order to perfect his knowledge of classical stone carving, he traveled in 1985 to Pietrasanta in Italy, the birthplace of Michelangelo's creations. While there, Sassoon studied and worked with the same tools and marble taken from quarries utilized by Michelangelo. He returned home with a range of wonderful, inspired marble pieces and ready to make his own mark on the art world. He moved from classic stone statues to bronze, brass, aluminum, and contemporary materials. Since 1989, he has lived in the United States, breaking into the American art scene and creating unique minimalist contributions that combine “movement and power with effortless grace.”

Sassoon’s works have been acclaimed through various art publications, including the New York Times, and have been displayed in countless private collections, galleries, solo, and group art shows throughout the world, including in New York, London, Chicago, Boston, Israel, and Los Angeles, to name just a few.
