Rafael Hakobyan

Rafael Hakobyan is a distinguished abstract artist, born in Armenia, Vagharshapat, and currently residing in Vancouver, Canada. He developed a passion for painting at a very young age. After majoring in Fine Arts at Panos Terlemezian Yerevan State College of Arts and later switching to painting at the Yerevan Academy of Fine Arts, he embarked on his journey as a professional artist. While his formal education grounded him in classical techniques, it was his natural talent and vision that led him to embrace abstract art as his primary mode of expression.

Though his expertise lies in abstraction, his versatility is evident in his ability to work across various genres and subjects. His talent has been commissioned for significant projects, including numerous paintings for Armenian and Russian churches, where he skillfully balances traditional religious iconography with his unique contemporary style.

His abstract works are distinguished by their vivid color palettes, textured layers, and dynamic forms, reflecting his deep engagement with the emotional and spiritual dimensions of art.
