Swaraj Jawale | 'BROKE'

Born amidst the vibrant culture of India and raised in the cosmopolitan heart of Dubai, I am Swaraj Jawale—now known in the art world as BROKE. My artistic journey began at the age of five, shaped by a lifetime surrounded by fellow creatives and fueled by a deep emotional connection to the world around me.

By 16, my work has become a living canvas of stories, emotions, and reflections. From earning the prestigious Kala Ratna Award at the All India Art Talent competition in 2019, to representing young global talent at the IWS International Watercolor Competition in Hong Kong in 2018, I’ve consistently explored the space where emotion meets contemporary expression.

In 2021, my artwork was featured in Gulf News magazine, and I proudly became the youngest participant at World Art Dubai in both 2021 and 2022—establishing my voice on an international platform.

As BROKE, I aim to transcend aesthetics. My art is not just seen—it’s felt. Each piece is a conversation, an invitation to look deeper, think harder, and feel more. I seek to challenge norms and inspire meaningful connections through a visual language shaped by both cultural roots and modern realities.

I am currently a high school graduate, having completed my education in Dubai. My academic journey has given me a strong foundation to navigate the art world not just creatively, but strategically. Active involvement in school committees, media projects, and leadership roles has further shaped my perspective—bridging the gap between structured learning and expressive storytelling through art.
