Zhanna Samsonova

I am a self-taught artist working in oil, creating semi-abstract landscapes inspired by places that stay with me long after I leave them.

My work begins with feeling rather than observation.
Cliffs, coastlines, lighthouses, and open skies appear in my paintings not as exact scenes, but as expressions of memory, movement, and emotion.

Much of my recent work is part of Map of Quiet, a series inspired by travels along the Québec coast. Through it, I explore the contrast between the movement of nature and the stillness it creates within.

My process is layered and intuitive, allowing each painting to evolve until it reflects not a place, but an experience.

My works are held in private collections worldwide.
