Gawaa is an artist from the southwestern desert of Mongolia who now lives and works between Sydney, Australia, and Mongolia. After studying fine arts in Australia in 2010, Gawaa became an active part of the vibrant Inner West Sydney art culture, contributing to its creative community with a distinctive voice.

Over the past 15 years, Gawaa has cultivated a dynamic and evolving artistic practice, showcasing their work in more than 10 solo exhibitions and over 40 group exhibitions across Australia, Mongolia, Germany, and the USA. Their creations are rooted in abstract minimalism, assemblage, and text-based art, reflecting a deep engagement with form, materiality, and conceptual narratives.

Through their art, Gawaa navigates themes of identity, place, and transformation, drawing inspiration from their Mongolian heritage and the diverse environments they inhabit.
