I am a Turkish-born artist based in Cary, North Carolina, working with Ebru (traditional Turkish marbling) as a contemporary medium for abstraction. With over nine years of experience, my practice explores silk and canvas as fluid landscapes shaped by water, movement, and memory.
Using hand-manipulated pigments suspended on water, I create one-of-a-kind compositions that are transferred onto silk textiles and gallery-wrapped canvases. Through layered color, atmospheric depth, and organic motion, I investigate landscape as shifting terrain — where cultural heritage and contemporary abstraction intersect.
My hand-marbled silk works are featured at the North Carolina Museum of Art Museum Shop. I am a member of the Textile Society of America, engaging with international dialogue in textile research and contemporary material practice. My evolving body of work is expanding toward larger-scale silk pieces and spatial installations.
Istanbul University, Turkey
My academic training in history informs my artistic practice, grounding my exploration of silk, landscape, and cultural memory within a broader understanding of material heritage and geographic narrative.
