Jana Derksen

Jana Vanessa Derksen, born in 1998 in Bielefeld, Germany, studied Architecture in Detmold from 2016 to 2021.
During her studies, she discovered her passion for abstract painting through hands-on studio courses.
“What fascinates me is how form, structure, and color can resonate freely—without rigid rules,” she says.
This sense of openness led her to develop a distinctive artistic approach that has since become her signature: her unique spatula technique.
Her paintings are collected throughout the world.

The paintings are unique by it's mixture of abstractness and concretness. She uses acrylic paint and a special palette knifes technique for its significant recognition value.
