BA Fine Arts
Niamh Dalby BA (Fine Arts) returns with her most dramatic oeuvre yet, a blend of the beauty and the beast of the sea.
She has a family heritage in culture and art, her previous output includes
"Face Up" (2018), a study of actor on stage and screen, that was exhibited in both Mullingar County Council in 2020 and in The Dean Crowe Hall, Athlone.
This exhibition "Tidal Waves" is a study of the sea in all its majesty but with all its strength, inspired by the shores of Co Clare.
Here we have the eerily placid innocence of "Infinity" and beguiling blue depths, the ocean with its beauty and power, and then with a change of tide and wind, in is juxtaposed with the "Sea Serpent" and the "Toxic Wave" ready to wreak vengeance on its mistreatment with poison. Its power is unceasing, its memory unforgettable, its wrath unforgiving. It can unleash huge force in a single wave. Yet return to the fold of mother nature, washing up at our feet.
