Igor Dobrowolski

I was born in Jelenia Góra, Poland, and the city’s unique beauty has always inspired my work. From an early age, I found myself drawn to the surreal and the extraordinary, spending hours indoors, sketching and immersing myself in my family's collection of art books. I was fascinated by the works of Salvador Dalí and M.C. Escher—those artists showed me that art could break the rules of reality. Their influence still shapes my approach today.

As a child, I remember reading about the world, about the trauma, pain, and suffering. I felt it in my heart, and I knew I had to express that. It was a way for me to process the chaos around me. My world became a cycle of painting and sleeping—painting to understand, sleeping to escape. But through it all, I was searching for meaning, trying to make a difference, to connect with something beyond myself.

Over time, my desire to share untold stories grew stronger. I began using my art to challenge the world’s indifference. My street art campaigns in various countries have been a way to draw attention to the stark contrast between Western consumerism and human suffering.
