Julia Miheeva

Stage, paper, screen — these are the spaces through which I try to share how I see and feel the world.

As a theatre designer, scenographer, costume designer, and videographer, I have created over 100 productions in Russia and internationally. I have worked for many years with video projection in theatre, as well as an artist and animator in animated film.

Recipient of the national theatre award Golden Mask, as well as other professional awards and festival prizes.

Recently, working as an independent artist has become especially important to me. I draw in various techniques and materials, exploring the fragile nature of the image that emerges between the inner and the outer, between perception and memory.

I have been living outside Russia for over a year and a half.

Exhibitions
For many years, I was fully engaged in theatre and animation work, and participating in exhibitions was neither my focus nor a personal priority. In 2025, I held my first solo show at Pinecone Bar, Belgrade, presenting the DreamScape series — a project I am currently developing, with upcoming exhibitions planned in various European cities.
