Olessya Shuvayeva (b. 1981, Kazakhstan, Astana).

“Canvas is a space where silence and light create their magic”

Olessya Shuvayeva is a contemporary artist and landscape architect whose work explores the concept of "Visual Silence" — a meditative state captured through the interplay of light and structured space. Drawing from her professional background in spatial design, Olessya reconstructs the canvas as a stage, where feline protagonists inhabit worlds of architectural precision and poetic mystery.
Working predominantly with oil on fine linen canvases, she utilizes the organic texture of the substrate to ground her ethereal visions. Based in Astana, Kazakhstan, her work has been showcased internationally, including an invitational exhibition in Beijing (2026).
