Immersion in light refractions known as Inferior Mirage, a unique and naturally occurring visual aspect on picturesque Sumatra island.

Focused exclusively on low lying, at-water angles in lagoon surf dynamics, ocean waves are thoughtfully composed through subtle mirage phenomena conditions.

Born in Canada, I grew up very engaged in photography and ocean sport. My long voyage of searching for the world's prime surf locations had me settle here in warmer climes, where I founded my Indonesian family. It is while bathing my daughter in the tide pools that I noticed waves progessing through certain reflections in the distance, seen from where we swam.

Seizing these sights in this environment involves constant negotiating through vast spaces high in air characteristic variations, requiring true tactical timing as much as vision.

This evolving creative process has made me even closer to a beloved coastline of utmost beauty, on which I have been for the last 17 years.
