Veronika Garmotenko

My name is Veronika Germotenko, an emerging contemporary artist residing in Israel. My artistic journey began in a unique and exceptional way - shortly after the events of October 7, 2023, when the chaos and unsettling reality surrounding me led me to discover a new means of expression through painting. In a moment of national and personal crisis, I found in art a refuge and a way to process and express the profound emotions I was experiencing.

My Artistic Approach

I work primarily with acrylic paints, experimenting with various techniques that allow me to express emotion, thought, and feeling on canvas. My art, born out of crisis, is characterized by an open and honest approach to turbulent events. I believe that art can serve as historical testimony, as personal coping, and as a tool for processing and understanding the complex reality in which we live.
My works move between the abstract and the concrete, expressing movement between chaos and order, and reflecting the tension between trauma and healing. The choice of acrylic paints allows me flexibility, spontaneity, and the ability to quickly respond to ideas and emotions.
