Three decades ago, Pierre, of Swiss descent, arrived in New Zealand and was captivated by its stunning South Island landscapes, serene tranquility, and the genuine warmth of its people. The land’s rugged beauty and peaceful spirit convinced him this was home. Settling in the South Island, he embraced the grounded Kiwi lifestyle.
The Wakatipu region, with its soaring mountains, vast valleys, and ever-changing shadows, ignited Pierre’s artistic passion. This wild yet serene landscape inspired a unique body of work defined by achromatic techniques. Through skillful use of black, white, and countless grays, Pierre captures Wakatipu’s essence, turning the absence of color into a powerful expression of emotion and form.
