Sarah is an artist and a teacher and lives in the UK.Artist Statement -I create artwork with an emotional environment to produce a sensory experience and anticipation built up through an increasing amount of time. My works combine my interest in aesthetics, particularly a kitsch style with questions of a personal nature. All my work is about understanding a story and creating narratives that invite interpretation, express emotion and provoke thought.The methodologies of my films are all about the slow, oppressive creep of time. The images are like moving photographs, nothing much happens and this doesnt add up to much drama, but I try to create a pervading sense of anxiety and sad inevitability. The stillness exaggerates the passing of time and to allow for reflection, the more you look, the more you see. Unlike what is expected with film, typically the only movement is that of an action or object within the frame. I use objects to represent an absent body to create a powerful sense of abandonment and isolation; a trace of what was.My main influences are from Pre-Raphaelite painting and classic literature and poetry particularly those with a serious or romantic subject matter.
