Leslie Wisenbaker

Leslie Wisenbaker is a Texas-based artist working in oil painting, pyrography, and fiber art. Her work is bold, story-driven, and unapologetically human.
She came to painting in 2020 — later in life, during a period of upheaval — and went full time in 2025. What started as a lifeline became a practice. What became a practice became a body of work held in private collections across the United States.
Her paintings live at the intersection of oil and fire. Line work burned directly into wood precedes every brushstroke — a technique entirely her own. Her fiber work follows the same instinct: no plan, no predetermined destination, only the material and the decision to keep going until it feels right.
Her work has been accepted into juried exhibitions including the 2026 Punk Love show at the Greater Denton Arts Council. She takes commissions selectively — only when there is room for her own vision inside the work.
She believes art should have a soul, not just match the couch.
