I became fascinated with geometric art and tessellation by way of M.C. Escher. This led me to discover the Islamic tradition of geometric art expressed through architectural forms in various countries. I am now entranced with the beauty and logic of geometric constructions following this tradition. I use the traditional tools of straight edge and compass to construct modern interpretations of historical patterns. I've worked in watercolor, ink, and oil paint.
