Judy is a contemporary artist based in Matagami, Quebec, whose work bridges abstract and figurative expression. Her paintings explore emotion, memory, and northern landscapes through layered textures and evocative form. Rooted in painting and printmaking, her work is inspired by the boreal forest — its textures, silences, and the subtle transformations it undergoes in a changing world.
Through layered abstraction, organic forms, and a deeply sensory approach, she evokes the fragility and resilience of ecosystems — from windswept clearings to moss-covered earth and sunlit fields of dandelions. Her art invites viewers to slow down, reconnect, and listen to the quiet intelligence of the natural world.
Judith lives and works in Matagami, James Bay, Quebec where she also facilitates creative workshops that link artistic expression with environmental awareness.

In recognition of her contribution to northern artistic and cultural life, Judith has received two grants from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) and the Administration régionale Baie‑James (ARBJ). Her evocative solo exhibition Écofragile: paysages nordiques en photos et tableaux (2024, Matagami, QC) featured both paintings and photography. Her 2025 exhibition, Vagues d’éternité: ombre et clarté, will be presented in Lebel‑sur‑Quévillon and later during the Journées de la Culture at Galerie d’art AU in Matagami. These milestones highlight her growing impact across northern Quebec’s artistic communities.
Judith continues to maintain a strong presence in Val‑d’Or through solo and group exhibitions. Highlights include Croissance (2016, Galerie Connivence), a solo exhibition at Galerie Point Rouge (2022), and regular participation in VOART’s Espaces series and the PLODA art‑lending program. Her ongoing engagement reflects her deep connection to regional culture and northern ecologies.
Looking ahead, Judith will present a new body of work in Matagami in the summer of 2026, followed by another exhibition at Galerie d’art AU in the fall. Her ecological artistic practice will also be featured in Reflets: mémoires du ter...
