Maureen Lopez Villanueva is a Filipino self-taught abstract artist whose work explores the vibrant and dynamic colors of life. With a background in Psychology and a professional career in Human Resources, she has always embraced her passion for the arts as a constant and creative anchor.
Maureen began painting in 2013, channeling her emotions and experiences into abstract forms and color-rich compositions. Her artistic journey blossomed further when she founded The Bookmark Project — a community-based activity that brought art into the lives of children across the Philippines. Through this project, she guided young minds in “painting their dreams” on small bookmarks, spreading inspiration and hope one brushstroke at a time.
Today, she continues to create vivid, meaningful works that reflect her evolving journey as an artist, mother, and advocate for creativity in everyday life.
