Sara E Napoletani

I am primarily a mixed media artist and studied Art at The School of Art and Design in Colchester from 2000 - 2003 BA(hons). As well as painting, drawing, photographic work and digital manipulation, I have always written poetry and feel this often goes hand in hand with my art.

I was born in Southport, Lancashire, but now live in East Anglia, this is where most of my inspiration comes from, though I have to have my fix of the mountains and wild landscapes of the Lake District!

Both my art and poetry come from my feelings of the present, past and the future. The atmosphere from all around generates it. They are sometimes topical and of the moment and come from the depths of feeling that encapsulates my being, as well as outside influences that push me in some way, shape or form, to react.

The trees look so still now they are without leaf
The blackbird and the starling bathe side by side
In a muddy puddle which the melting snow
Has had time to thoughtfully provide
See looking out now, as the trees stand still
Not a breath of air disturbs their branches
Nor nothing disturbs my will.
