Keiko Inui is a Tokyo-based Chinese-Japanese artist.
Born in Shanghai China in 1992, she spent her childhood in Japan. Influenced by her mother, a former ballet dancer, she received seven years of specialized training at a ballet academy. Her ballet training revealed the limitations of her natural talent, leading her to discover that painting offered greater freedom for self-expression. Driven by passion, she enrolled at the China Academy of Art to study fine art after graduated from ballet academy and completed her bachelor's degree in 2013.
This dual cultural background has given her profound understanding of themes such as cross-cultural integration and identity formation in foreign lands. It also explains her preference for blending two distinct visual elements to create a visual effect that appears unified but simultaneously displays a juxtaposition.
Her inspiration largely comes from myths and legends, theatrical performances, Japanese manga, films, traditional patterns, and experiences gained from traveling around the world. She continues to explore the creation of a narrative-driven artistic worldview with a distinctive personal style through the use of rich colors and diverse techniques.
China Academy of Art (2009-2013) BA.
