Puja Mittal

A self taught artist, I have now been
creating canvas stories, from more than 3 decades. It
maybe with a pen, pencil, crayon, knife,
brush, object or fingers..it is always yet
another happy space with my palette. I
remember when I would fill up the wall of
the annual art exhibition at school, with
detailed pencil sketch work, skip lectures
and pour my soul for endless hours, bent
over my cartridge sheet pinned on a light
art board, resting on a frail easel - my
finger tips covered with an array of charcoal
hues...eyes shining a million smiles! It was
therapeutic! The memory still makes me
smile, especially when I see children shying
away from academics and soul searching in
creative realms.

Recently CUR8 was born. The artworks are a
vivid amalgamation of brilliant hues,
textures, happiness, chaos and peace. Even
now the process. it is a mystic zone, where I
step in and stand bare to my raw emotionsas blank as the canvas! The processing
begins and the soul gets latched on Modern
impressionism tries to capture the butterfly
of laughter that flutters around while I chase
the same with sunrays and water splashing
to the sound of music. It is only when all
these senses come to peace, a canvas
mutates into a piece of work.
